Beatrice Hassell Hamilton Scott 85 passed on May 5, 2017. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep at home. Bea was born June 27, 1931 in Gallatin, TN where she grew up and lived a wonderful life. Her father Sam Edward Hassell, mother Eleanor Walker Hassell, sister Mary Hassell Galbraith, half-sister Shirley Hassell, mother that raised her Ruth T. Hassell Thompson and 2 husbands Ike Baker Hamilton and Kenneth Breckinridge Scott all preceded her in death.

Bea was loved by many friends and family and was known for her quick wit and beautiful smile. She loved to travel and never met a stranger. Bea also enjoyed playing bridge and played for over 65 years with lifelong friends.

She was a devout member of the Gallatin Church of Christ. After working many years at Cumberland Membership Electric Company she retired in 1993.

Bea is survived by her 3 children, Ben Lee Hamilton, Emily Ruth (Ruthie) Keene, Samee Bea Spalding (Kerry), 4 step children John B. Scott (Laura), Susan Scott Downs, Cynthia Scott, Patty Scott Bartlett (Frank), 2 nieces Sandra Galbraith Long, Sylvia Galbraith Young (Mark), 2 cousins Martha Jean Fish, Doug Walker and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be begin on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Gallatin Church of Christ located at 150 E Main St, Gallatin, TN from 4:30 pm till 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at Gallatin Church of Christ with Bro. Daniel Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Gallatin City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Wilson, Allen Cook, Terry Pryor, Nathan Pryor, Jr. Stewart and Randy Keene. Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Jones, Ned Douglas and Curtis Key.

The family would like to extend a warm appreciation to the Gallatin Emergency Responders for their love and help.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gallatin Church of Christ Youth Ministry.
