Carolyn Hoskins Dorris

Carolyn Hoskins Dorris, age 80 of Gallatin, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2020. She was born on June 24, 1940 in Old Hickory, Tennessee and graduated from Dupont High School. Carolyn worked for Monument Records, the Sumner County School System and retired from Volunteer Veterinary Clinic. She loved gardening and all living creatures, particularly her hummingbirds and her faithful chihuahua Pepe. Most of all she loved her family and church family at Long Hollow Baptist Church of which she was a charter member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Macie Pearl and Jess Willard Hoskins. Mrs. Dorris is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Earl Dorris, Jr.; children, Debbie Attkisson (Carl) and Danny Dorris (Wanda); grandchildren, Derek Dorris (Kassidi), and Max DaCosta (Cherish); great-grandchildren, Khloe Dorris and Jackson DaCosta; brother, Doug Hoskins (Dottie); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Mrs. Dorris will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Beech Cemetery and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
