Mr. Ellis Avis Porter was born August 18, 1941 in Decatur, AL and he passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his residence in Gallatin.
Mr. Porter was the son of the late Travis Russell and Frances Elizabeth Durham Porter. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Russell Porter.
Mr. Porter was a member of the Boilermakers Local 455 and was a construction worker.
Survivors include brother, Travis Earl Porter of Gallatin and sister, Brenda Porter Whitaker of Gallatin. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Memorial service will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11 am at the Gallatin First Church of the Nazarene, 407 N Water Ave in Gallatin with Rev. Allen Thompson and Pastor Steven Oldham officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 am to service time at 11.
