Kenneth Gray Smith, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, born April 12, 1931 in Old Hickory, Tennessee to Ozzie Gray Smith (decd) and Bessie B Smith (decd) died January 1, 2022 in Nashville, TN. Survived by children Kenneth Gray Smith, Jr of Gallatin TN, Lynn Smith Egbers of Hendersonville, TN and Tony Smith of Gallatin, TN. Preceded in death by daughter Elizabeth Smith Geiger, brother JC Smith and sister Ava Leda Smith Millard. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith graduated from DuPont High School in Old Hickory, TN in 1949 where he played basketball. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville TN and served in the U.S. Navy. He was active in the Nashville Sertoma Club and started the Gallatin Sertoma Club and Nashville Firefighters Club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville TN. Mr. Smith accomplished many things during his lifetime and was an avid golfer. He excelled at computer applications in its earlier days and started his own computer business, Ken Smith and Associates in Parkway Towers in Nashville during the 1970’s. He also traveled the world as a business efficiency expert in the 1980’s. During the 1990’s, he opened his own cabinetry business in Hendersonville where he built and installed commercial cabinets throughout the Southeast until his retirement. Mr. Smith was truly a unique and talented individual. He had the ability to inspire, motivate and bring out the best in people.
