Melissa Ann Shanes Burroughs age 58 of Bethpage passed away at her residence on Sunday May 28, 2017.
She was born in Hendersonville, TN on October 19, 1958 to Joseph Harold and Aubreita Jean Waggoner Shanes. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Bethpage and was an optician in the eye medical field.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Harold Shanes.
Survivors include husband, Alan Burroughs of Bethpage whom she married December 3, 1994. Son Chris McMurtry of Smyrna, mother Aubreita Jean Waggoner Shanes of Hendersonville, two brothers, Joel Shanes of Flintville, TN and Jerry Shanes of Hendersonville, two sisters, Brenda Allen of Hendersonville and Teresa Wilson of Gallatin and two granddaughters, Grace and Eva Hope McMurtry both of Smyrna.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 2 PM. The service will be held at Grace Baptist Church located at 410 Old Hwy 31 E in Bethpage.
