Pearl Shaffer was born April 16, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia and she passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at her residence in Portland at the age of 86.
Pearl was the daughter of Samuel Milton and Jessie Ethel Burdette Santee. She was married to James Howard Shaffer who passed away on Nov. 13, 2011. Mrs Shaffer was a home health aide and a member of the Hendersonville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include four sons, Harry Litteral of Milton, WV, Sam Litteral of Barboursville, WV, Ronnie Litteral of Claremont, NC and James Walter Shaffer of Westmoreland; five daughters, Phyllis Mayberry of Ladson, SC, Priscilla Nash of Greenbrier, Donna Rice of Portland, Sharon Shaffer of Goodlettsville and Karen Deala of Hendersonville. 16 grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren also survive.
