Thomas "Tommy" Eugene Evans, age 74, of Hartsville, Tennessee, passed away at his residence, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Mr. Evans was born in Athens, Alabama on September 21, 1947, to the late Charlie Wesley Evans and Jewel Christine White Evans.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Evans, Buddy Brown; sister, Helan Brown Gaston; an infant sister; granddaughters, Geahna Evans, and Iva Dean-Rose Corbett-Hale.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cynthia Rose Corbett-Evans; daughter, Lisa Auton of Westmoreland, TN; son, Thomas Cameron Evans of Westmoreland, TN; daughters, Nichole Corbett (Johnathan) of Adolphus, KY, Courtney Evans of Murfreesboro, TN, Sheree Corbett (Bo) of Greenbrier, TN; grandchildren, Jon "JC" Christopher Reichle (Amy) of Denham Springs, LA, Anthany Hale (Sydney) of Adolphus, KY, Sean Reichle of Bear Valley, CA, Aidan Printz of Gallatin, TN, Hunter Evans of Murfreesboro, TN, Lexington Corbett (Printz) of Greenbrier, TN, Devin Bethea of Murfreesboro, TN, Maddie Hale of Adolphus, KY; brothers, Charles Evans (Janie) of Athens, AL, Gene "JBird" Autry of Moulton, AL; great-grandchildren, Jax Reichle, Waylon Hale, Thomas Lee Evans, Kenzley Mae Evans, Trenton Hale; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Evans was a United States Army Veteran, a Mason with Scottish Rites, and an Al Menah Shriner. He worked for Ryder Truck Leasing for 36 years, and in his later years with the company, he was shop supervisor of four locations.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help the family offset medical bills and final expenses. Contributions can be made in memory of Tommy Evans c/o Nichole Corbett at the First Horizon Bank - Gallatin, TN located at 668 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066. They can be made in person or via mail.
The family is choosing to honor Mr. Evans wishes, which were cremation followed by scattering in special places. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Evans Family Cemetery in Athens, Alabama. Please contact Nichole at 615-325-8933 if you would like to go.
