Billy H. Templeton, age 76 of Gallatin, passed away August 15, 2026 at his home.

A lifelong resident of Sumner County, Billy was born on March 1, 1950 to the late Johnny Franklin Templeton and the late Nellie Eunice Shrum Templeton.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his son, Chris Templeton, one brother, and three sisters.

Billy is survived by his wife, Sarah Templeton; children, Jamie Drolet (Amy), Franklin Templeton (Kelly), Cory Templeton (Katie), and Cody Templeton; step-children, Angela Hodges (Bubba) and Amber Bull (Josh; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved all things outdoors and also enjoyed racing; he was a former volunteer firefighter with the Southeast Fire Department and was a proud tree surgeon for almost 50 years.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at a later date.
