Cheryl Mattos, age 63 of Hendersonville, Tennessee and formerly of Southern Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2026 at her home.
The first born of four children, Cheryl was raised in Southern Illinois before later moving to Tennessee with her family.
Cheryl was much more than a daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She was a confidant, a best friend and someone who wanted her family to be loved and cared for. She valued time spent with the ones she loved. And devoted her life to those relationships.
Cheryl passed away in her sleep at her home and is now in the presence of her Lord and savior Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Garrison; and step-father, Harris E. Harris.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Erica, Jenny, and Nathan; her mother, Lois; grandchildren, Cassie, Kobe, Kylie, Lillian, Kadie, Viktor, Noah, Bently, Cielo, and Leo; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Allen and Steve; and her sister, Dana.
A Celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 5:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 4:00-5:00 P.M.
