It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Christine Elisabeth Sprout on November 1st, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Christine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She emigrated to the United States with her mother from Vienna, Austria, after the end of World War II. She married her beloved husband, Elmer Wayne Sprout, on March 20th, 1965, and became and mother to Troy and Dale in the following years. Outside of her family life, she was an incredibly talented seamstress. Her handiwork graced several weddings, graduations, and countless special events for more than 20 years. She was the most kind, outgoing and sweet woman to grace our lives, and her presence will be missed by all who knew her.

Christine is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne; her sons Troy Sprout and Dale Sprout; grandchildren Lauren, Andrew, and Ryan Sprout; great-grandson Archer Sprout; brother Robert Wooten; and a host of extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Bascom Wooten and Christine Kovar Wooten, brother Walter Wooten, and sister Betty Finehout.

Please join the family on Friday, November 13th, 2026, at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside, to commemorate Christine’s life. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of the celebration of life service at 11:00 AM. Christine will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a later date.
