Christopher Patrick O'Brien

September 11, 1939 — January 17, 2024

Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Christopher P. O’Brien, age 84 of Goodlettsville, moved to the other side of the rainbow and into the open arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17, 2024. 

 

Married for 61 years, Chris leaves behind his beautiful and wonderful wife, Diane; their two sons, Patrick and Chris (wife Bethany); three grandchildren, Megan, Cheyenne and Morgan; great-grandson, Kadence; step-grandchildren, Phillip and Kaylynn; his sister, Patricia; sister-in-law, Patricia; brother-in-law, Robert Stosser; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick O’Brien and Johannah Foley O’Brien; his great-grandson, Aiden; 3 sisters, and 1 brother. He looked forward to being reunited with them in Heaven along with his wife’s parents, uncles, aunts and cousins. Chris is now seeing Jesus face to face, worshiping our Heavenly Father, his Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for all eternity. 

 

Born and raised in New York City, Chris was the oldest son of two Irish parents, he was very proud of his service to his country and his hometown of New York. Chris served in the United States Army for 6 years both active duty and reserve and he was a retired firefighter from the City of New York Fire Department. He was a wonderful man with a big heart and faith that could move mountains. Chris loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and looked forward to resting in his arms. His family will miss him more than words can express. 

 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Nonso Ohanaka, celebrant. Visitation with the family and a luncheon will immediately follow the mass in Bevington Hall at Our Lady of the Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission or the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.
