It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarence Henry McQuary, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on May 7, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 12, 1950, Clarence made Gallatin, TN, his home, where he dedicated his life to his family and community.
Clarence was a man of many talents, and he filled every room with laughter and joy, always ready with a quick-witted joke. He was married to his bride, Gloria, for nearly 60 years, and shared a love as vast as the heavens above. As a father, Clarence took immense pride in his two daughters, Camille and Patty, whom he adored with all his heart. His legacy continues to live on through his beloved grandchildren, Braeden, Liam, and Hannah, who were the apples of his eye. He spoiled them via his love language, gift giving!
A proud veteran, Clarence served in the United States Air Force for ten years, followed by his time in the Army and Army Reserves. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career; he also served as a probation officer in Gallatin, TN, and as a volunteer policeman in both Tennessee and Illinois. Clarence’s dedication to his community was evident in everything he did, and he will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help those in need. In his leisure time, Clarence found solace in nature, often casting his line into the waters, cherishing quiet moments of fishing that allowed him to reflect and enjoy the beauty around him.
Clarence leaves behind his loving wife, Gloria; daughters Camille Boyer (Leonard) of Missouri, and Patty Matsinger (Michael) of Pennsylvania; and his treasured grandchildren Braeden, Liam, and Hannah; along with several nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary McQuary.
Per the family’s wishes, there will not be services scheduled at this time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sumner Funeral and Cremation, 615-452-9059.
