Hendersonville, Tennessee

David E. Parker, age 74 of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024 with his family by his side. 

 

David was preceded in death by his parents, George William Parker and Jean Elizabeth McConnell Parker. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Parker; daughters, Jennifer Burns (Dennis) and Lesley Haro (Greg); grandchildren, Hunter Haro and Cody Haro; sister, Susan Costa (Greg); mother-in-law, Mildred Bartlett; sister-in-law, Michele Bartlett (Todd); brother-in-law, Mike Pickard; nephews, Chad Costa (Sarah), Trace Lewis, Reid Lewis; niece Reagan Lewis; and his companion, Duke the Brittany Spaniel. 

 

David graduated from Roy C Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls, NY, in 1967. He enlisted in the US Navy with service on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War.

 

He worked in the printing industry for over 40 years, with the last 30 here in Nashville.

 

In retirement, he enjoyed RV camping with his wife Bonnie, woodworking, and vegetable gardening in his backyard. He connected with his grandsons over car restoration and golf. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan and supported the Nashville Predators and Nashville Sounds. His favorite hobby was spending time with his dog Duke, taking him for car rides and sharing ice cream with him. 

 

There are no services planned for David at this time. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the Vanderbilt Medical Center Palliative Care Unit or to Vietnam Veterans of Sumner County. Donations may be made through the links provided below.
