On September 18th, 2024, surrounded by family, Deloris "Sissy" M. Large Terry, our loving mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, entered the gates of Heaven.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. Deloris was the sweetest, kindest, and wittiest woman who loved her family dearly. A huge sports fan who also loved her Kentucky basketball and her Los Angeles Angels baseball teams.
Ms. Terry was born on December 22, 1943, in Field, KY, to the late Mr. James Shirley Large and Ruth Whiteaker Large. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister; brother, Gene Large; and son, Gordon Terry, Jr.
Deloris graduated from Gallatin High School in 1961. Prior to retiring, Deloris was a bookkeeper and admitting clerk at Claiborne County Hospital.
She is survived by daughter, Gidget (Tony) Murray; grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Celentano, Danny Terry, and J.T. Murray; great-grandchildren, Maddox Terry, Miles Celentano, Rowan Celentano, August Celentano, and Della Celentano; sister-in-law, Pat Large; nieces, Tammie (Henley) Connor, Lynn Large, Traci Crutcher and Buffie Large; nephew, Tim Crutcher; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Her beacon of light, her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and caring heart will be missed by all.
