Listen to Obituary

Donald "Don" Clarence Ganski passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 71. He was born on July 11, 1954, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and was raised by Leonard and Loretta Ganski.

From an early age, Don developed a deep sense of service, commitment, and community—a legacy he would carry forward throughout his life. He dedicated his career to public safety, guided by compassion, discipline, and professionalism. He completed rigorous training at the Police & Fire Academy as well as EMT school, equipping himself with the skills and knowledge needed to serve others in times of need. His service within the Village of Rosemont in Rosemont, Illinois was marked by integrity and a polished, approachable presence.

Don's impact was felt not only in his professional life but also within the wider community, including his involvement with Northfield Church in Gallatin. He was an avid golfer, finding joy and camaraderie on the greens. Don also found joy in connecting with others through Facebook, and his loyalty as a customer of Dutch Bros. was legendary among friends and family.

Don is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Ganski. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Donna; daughters Tasha Hook (Jeff) and Carissa Delgado (Frank); grandchildren Aubrey and Bryce Hook; mother Loretta Ganski; brother Robert Ganski (Debbie); and a host of extended family and dear friends.

A visitation to honor Donald’s memory will be held on July 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside, 104 Sanders Ferry Rd, Hendersonville, TN. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held from 5:30 to 6:00 pm at the same location. Pastor Tom Haddon of Northfield Church will preside.
