Dr. Michael John Froyd, a cherished member of his community and devoted family man, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on February 1, 1947, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Michael lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and profession.
For 42 years, Dr. Froyd ran a successful Chiropractic and Acupuncture practice across Florida, Colorado, and Tennessee, where he was known not only for his skill but also for his genuine passion for healing and helping others. A proud graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, class of 1972, he utilized his knowledge and expertise to make a lasting impact on the lives of his patients.
Michael's generous spirit extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He served in the Army National Guard, embodying a commitment to service that resonated through his life. His dedication to the community was further exemplified by his role as an auxiliary trooper for the Florida Highway Patrol. An avid traveler, golfer, and car enthusiast, Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures and built lasting memories with those he loved. Additionally, he shared his wisdom and enthusiasm for sports as a basketball coach.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Cathy Froyd; their children, Jennifer Smith (Michael) and Andrew Kalmbach; and grandchildren, Michael Jace Smith and Reagan Smith. He is also survived by his siblings Terry Froyd (Georgie), Linda Quade (Larry), Konnie Sparks (Dan), and Steve Froyd (Betty).
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Froyd and Madonna Grall Froyd. As a beautiful human who touched many lives with his kindness, Michael will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire those left behind.
