Eddie Hayes, age 69, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026.

Born on August 11, 1956, Eddie lived a life defined by dedication, quiet passion, and deep love for the things—and people—that mattered most to him. Eddie proudly served in the United States Air Force, a period that instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, commitment and integrity that he carried throughout his life. Following his service, he spent many years as an avid, and very competitive professional golfer, where he became a familiar and trusted presence. To countless members and friends, Eddie was more than a pro—he was a mentor, a teacher, and a steady figure who embodied the spirit of the game. His patience, knowledge, and genuine love for golf left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of learning from him or sharing a round. Eddie brought out the best in everyone.

Outside of the course, Eddie found peace and joy in fishing, often happiest near the water with a rod in hand. Whether on the green or by the water, he appreciated the quiet moments, the discipline of the craft, and the connection to nature.

Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Hayes Sr. and is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Hayes; his son, Dathan (Fany); grandchildren, Julian and Marisabel (Risa, as grandad called her); his mother, Joanne Hayes; and sisters, Anne (Ronnie) Helton and Susan Davis. He was a devoted husband, a proud and wonderful father and grandad, a caring son, beloved brother, and the funniest uncle whose presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Eddie’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the friendships he built, and the countless memories shared on fairways and fishing banks alike.

A Celebration of Life for Eddie will be held at a later date to be announced.
