Eloise Hewgley Thompson

Eloise (Johnson) Hewgley Thompson, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Gallatin, Tennessee. Eloise was born on August 8, 1932 in Hendersonville, Tennessee to the late Garnett Martin Johnson and Mildred Edwards Johnson.

She was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ, where she volunteered in the church library. She was full of life and enjoyed many hobbies and had many interests, including sewing, cake decorating and playing bridge. Eloise was a loving caregiver for several people, and she cherished the life that she was blessed with.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Stan) Williams, Stephanie Hewgley, and Susan Diane Rowe; a brother, Gene Johnson; sister, Sandra Taylor; 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, from 11:00am until her Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Les Chapman officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 on Monday, January 20, at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hendersonville Church of Christ Whispering Pines Camp or the Alzheimers Association.

The family has entrusted her care to Austin & Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 104 Sanders Ferry Road, Hendersonville TN 37075.
