Faye Potter, a beloved matriarch, departed this world on June 20, 2025, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, at the age of 84. Born on May 29, 1941, in Trousdale County, Tennessee, Faye was a woman who embodied strength, resilience, and an indomitable spirit. With a fiery personality, she held firm to her beliefs and left an impression on all who crossed her path.
Faye's life was dedicated to her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in nurturing those she loved. Her children — Pam McMurtry; Jeff Potter (Candee), and Scott Potter (Daphne) — and her cherished grandchildren, Moriah McMurtry, Michael Perrett, Mason Potter, Maddee Potter, and Ella Potter, were the center of her world. Faye’s greatest accomplishment was ensuring that her family felt loved and cared for, a testament to her unwavering devotion.
Faye is survived by her loving children and grandchildren, as well as her dear sister, Linda Spears (Fred). She joins her parents, Clifton and Ethel Fisher, and her granddaughter, Moriah McMurtry, in eternal rest.
As a homemaker, Faye delighted in cooking and baking, known for her ability to fill her home with warmth and delicious aromas. Her fondness for sweets became legendary, as she was always eager to share her treats with others. Faye was also known for her meticulous nature, vacuuming every day and keeping her home sparkling clean. Visitors to her house left not only with full stomachs but also with hearts warmed by her kindness and hospitality.
Faye was not only a nurturer but also a fighter. If she believed in something, she would stand her ground, showcasing the strength of her character. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared by those who knew her and in the strong family bonds she helped create.
A visitation in honor of Faye will take place on June 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM, both held at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville, TN. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Faye Potter not only for her fiery spirit and incredible baking but also for the love she radiated. She made the world a sweeter place, and her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of many.
