Freida H. Germany

Freida H. Germany, age 89, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

She was born to the late Ruel and Lucille Traxler on May 19th, 1934, in Port Arthur, Texas.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Joe Hughes; and her second husband, Obie Germany.

She is survived by her children, Tracy Liddell (Steven), Joby Hughes; grandchildren, Matthew Liddell (Breanna Edwards), Lucy Hughes, Travis Hughes; great-grandchild, Brooklyn Edwards; and a cousin, Elizabeth Kelly.

She was a choir director for 25 years for Utica Baptist church where she enjoyed sharing her love of music. Moreover, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cousin who will be missed dearly.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 6pm-8pm at Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Drive, Ridgeland, MS 39157. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, at Sebrell Funeral Home with burial to follow in Utica Cemetery, 220 E Main Street in Utica, Mississippi, next to her mother and father.
