Hilda Shaffer

Hilda Shaffer, 98 of Hendersonville, TN passed peacefully in her sleep July 31, 2025. Hilda was born in 1926 in Rochester, NY but spent most of her life in Naples, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years Harold Shaffer in 2005. After residing in Naples almost 60 years Hilda relocated to Hendersonville, TN to spend her remaining years with one of her sons.

Young at heart Hilda was always busy. Talent for sewing often found her making her own clothes or making repairs or alterations. Whether waitressing at Bob n Ruth’s or serving in Rotary she made point of meeting all with a smile. Never afraid to try something, Hilda has been seen at theatre, ballet, and symphony. While not at top of her list she even attended a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and several professional hockey games. Hilda spent time last few years enjoying playing games and pot lucks at Elevate50.

Hilda is survived by her sons Douglas (Lydia) Shaffer of Lapeer, MI; Russell Shaffer of Hendersonville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
