Ida May Moore (Boggess), 86, passed away on Sunday, February 18, in the warmth of her home. She was born on April 24, 1937 in Sissonville, WV, to Addie and Lessie Boggess, and graduated from Sissonville High School in 1955.
She married James (Jim) Moore on August 15, 1961 in Norfolk, VA. The couple adopted infant children, James Lee and Kristen Lynn.
She was proud to be a Navy wife and her love for God, family, and country was immeasurable. High on her list of loves was country music, the Nashville Predators, and the Tennessee Titans.
Ida is survived by children James and Kristen and their spouses, Banu Moore and Curtis Fletcher, respectively. She is also survived by her grandsons, Curtis and Kaleb Fletcher, and her brother Windell Boggess. In addition, there are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and all of their children.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Jim, seven brothers (Arnold, Elbin, Freeman, Hillard, John, Laco, and Willard), and her sister, Mary.
The service will be held on Thursday the 22nd, at 1:00pm at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside, 104 Sanders Ferry Rd., Hendersonville, with visitation at noon.
Burial will be at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.
