James Patrick Degnan, Sr., age 89 of Hendersonville and formerly of Diamond Bar, California, passed away on December 22, 2022. Jim was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 27, 1933, to the late Thomas Degnan and the late Mary Duren.
A native of Ohio, Jim moved to Southern California in 1950 where he met his former wife and mother of his children, Barbara. He was an avid California Angel and Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball fan. Jim worked in the lumber industry in sales for over 60 years with Commercial Lumber Company in City of Industry, California until his retirement in 2019 and later moved to Tennessee in April, 2021 to be near his family. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Mickey” Degnan.
James is survived by his son, James Patrick "Pat" Degnan, Jr. (Tami) of Hendersonville, Tennessee; daughter, Cynthia "Cyndie" Marie Kenney (Clayton) of Skiatook, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lindsay Degnan, Courtney Anderson, and Caseylynn Anderson, great-grandchildren, Hayden Anderson, Harperlyn Anderson, Hallyn Anderson, and Brantley Anderson; and sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Hammond.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Degnan was cremated and services will be private.
