Janet Ann Yates

Janet Ann Yates, age 73, of Cottontown, Tennessee passed away on June 13, 2023. Jan was
born on September 5, 1949 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Richard E. and Caroline A. Bird.

In addition to her parents, Jan is preceded in death by her brother, James Bird.

Jan is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Yates; children, Sara (David) Carter-Smith and Jay
(Carie) Kozlik; Stepchildren, Greg (Kathy) Yates and Daniel (Patrick) Yates; grandchildren, Justin, Gabbi, and Zeke; Step grandchildren, Holly (Andrew) Taylor, Thomas, Tinley, and Trit Yates;  siblings, Jackie (Jack) Woods and Jayne (Jill) Bird; and the entire Yates family.

Born in Ohio, Jan lived in the state for many years before moving to Florida, and eventually
settling in Tennessee where she worked as a claims examiner for many years. Jan is a graduate
of Palm Beach High school and of the Florida Atlantic University. She was a member of Temple
Baptist church in Whitehouse, Tennessee. Jan loved her wonderful grandchildren, nature, her
flowers, bird watching, and spending time on the beach.

A celebration of life honoring Jan will be held on July 15, 2023 at 3:00PM with visitation with
the family beginning at 2:30PM at Temple Baptist Church located at 117 Marlin Road, White
House, Tennessee.
