Jennifer Imogene Jones (née Scott), a beautiful woman of 64 years, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Castalian Springs, Tennessee. Born on June 10, 1961, in Gallatin, Tennessee, Jennifer lived a life centered around faith, family, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Jennifer attended Vol State Community College before beginning her professional journey as a legal secretary. She worked with the Public Defender's Office and later served as a substitute teacher at Union Elementary for over a year. Her nurturing spirit also led her to care for children in the nursery at College Heights Baptist Church. However, her most cherished role was that of a mother and homemaker—a calling she embraced wholeheartedly.Jennifer’s greatest aspiration was to build and nurture a strong, loving family. She devoted herself entirely to raising her three sons—Bryan, Matt, and Bill—whom she homeschooled with remarkable dedication. Each day began promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ended at 2:30 p.m., complete with structured lessons and daily Bible study. She prepared them academically for college while instilling in them spiritual values rooted in Christian teachings. Her commitment extended beyond education; she managed the household with grace—cooking, cleaning, paying bills online, and ensuring everything was in order for her husband Rick when he returned from work.

Jennifer was the spiritual cornerstone of her family. After discovering the Shepherd's Chapel Network Bible study program on satellite television, she made it a daily ritual to engage her family in scripture readings and discussions. The family’s homeschool curriculum was grounded in materials from Family Christian Academy and their beloved Companion Bible. Her faith was not only personal but deeply communal—she ensured that everyone around her shared in the light of Christian fellowship.Despite enduring numerous health challenges over the last three decades—including immune disorders, multiple surgeries, and strokes—Jennifer remained resilient and full of love. She often hid her pain behind stories and laughter, becoming the life of every gathering. Fiercely protective of her loved ones, she taught compassion through example and never wavered in her mission to keep her family united.

Twelve years ago, recognizing Jennifer’s declining health, her sons made the selfless decision to leave their jobs to care for her full-time. Together with Rick, they formed a circle of unwavering support that allowed Jennifer to remain surrounded by love until her final days.Jennifer found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in decorating the home for every holiday—especially Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving—transforming each season into something magical. She enjoyed painting, cooking, working puzzle books, and most of all, reading. Her love extended to animals as well; she would feed and pet any creature that crossed her path.

She is survived by her devoted husband Rick Jones; sons Bryan Jones, Matt Jones, and Bill Jones; cousin Theresa Bennett (Tim); cousin Glen Hughes (Jerrie); nephew Phillip Searcy (Heather); nephews Justin Searcy, Andrew Searcy, Stevie Searcy, Will Searcy; and niece Elizabeth Searcy.Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Billy K Scott; mother Naomi Lee Scott; and sister Phyllis K Searcy.

Though Jennifer is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains deeply embedded in the hearts of those who loved her. Her life’s mission—to raise a faithful family bound by love—was fulfilled beyond measure. Pain-free at last and embraced by eternal peace, we rejoice knowing she has passed on to the next life with Jesus.May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and may her legacy continue to inspire strength, faith, and unconditional love.Arrangements Entrusted to: Sumner Funeral & Cremation, Gallatin (615)452-9059 www.sumnerfuneral.com
