He treasured gardening and spent many hours pursuing his love for hunting, canoeing and fishing. Additionally, he devoted time to visiting the sick and the bereaved, providing comfort and companionship to those in distress.
Delton was proud to be married to his wife, Martha Ann Pollock Porter, for 76 meaningful years. Together, they nurtured a loving family, which includes their son Paul (Becky) Porter and daughters Lisa (Keith) Ward, Amy (Tom) Stephenson, Beth (Murray) Wade, and Laura (Joel) Guyer. He was further blessed by 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who cherished his wisdom and strength.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Porter, his mother, Grace Porter, and his brothers Lindon (Ann), Dwight (Nelda), and Preston (Ann) Porter. His legacy continues through his surviving sister, Myra (Charlie) Barnett, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
