Jo Ann Higbee

Jo Ann Higbee, age 86 of Hendersonville, TN passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 in Portland, TN. She was born October 21, 1936 in Nashville, TN to Joe Hatton and Anna West Ragland.

Jo Ann grew up in East Nashville, attending East High School. She’ll be remembered for her loved of music and dancing, and the occasional Tom Collins. She enjoyed travelling, especially going to the coast or to the mountains. She will be remembered for her love and never-ending support of family and friends, as well as her determination and on occasion being somewhat “bull-headed”.  

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband Douglas Ray Higbee Sr. and son, Douglas Ray Higbee Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Rayeann (Robert) Bobbitt and Laura Potts; grandchildren, Beth, Jason, Bonnie, Jordan, Colleen, Sarah, Haley, and Skylar; and great-grandchildren, Torrian, Kagan, Mason, Hayden, Austin, Liam, “Little” Doug, and Wyatt.

Services will be private.
