Joseph Drews Zacovic, age 94 of Hendersonville, passed away June 26, 2025. Mr. Zacovic was born on April 26, 1931 in Republic, PA to the late Joseph Zacovic and the late Bertha Drews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Antionette Zacovic (nee Tarantino); brother, Charles; sisters, Carolyn and Doris; and great-granddaughter, Sylvie Zacovic.
Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Zacovic, Ralph Zacovic (Bonnie), and Paul Zacovic (Jodi); grandchildren, Joseph, Tassja (Gary), Steven, Alexandra, Sam, Brenna, and Blake (Branda); great-grandchildren, Bryan, Brett, Braylen, and Jayden; and sisters, Darlene and Joy.
Joe was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and a firefighter for 26 years in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, he enjoyed growing vegetables and herbs. Joe and Antionette enjoyed the best years of life at their cabin in Tidioute, PA on the Alleghany River. The most joy in their lives came from spending time with their children and grandchildren and at their cabin. They lived a simple life and truly loved one another.
A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 3:30 P.M. in the Chapel at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with Pastor John McClendon officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 P.M. until time of service.
A second celebration life is being planned and will be held in Ohio.
