Kay Aderholt Smith

January 7, 1947 — March 27, 2024

Pinson, Alabama

Kay Aderholt Smith, age 77 of Pinson, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 following a brief hospitalization and valiant fight against COPD and Lung Cancer.  Kay was born January 7, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Roy Otis Aderholt and Mary Frances Ezell Aderholt.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roy Forrest Aderholt.

Kay was double promoted twice and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1964.  She was a hard worker and prior to retiring, was the Office Manager for Inside Sales at Industrial Fire & Safety (Medical).  Kay loved the ocean, crossword puzzles, bowling, board & card games, bingo and going to the casino.  She was kind, thoughtful, generous, compassionate, and always tried to love unconditionally and find the best in others.  To say she was a strong woman would be an understatement.  She faced many obstacles, but rose above them to achieve what she felt were her greatest accomplishments.

She is survived by her daughter, Lydia Andrews, her grandson Holden Chase, Michael Calvert (her caregiver and dear friend who she loved like a son), as well as many close friends and family members.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.

Kay chose to be cremated and requested no funeral or memorial services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
