Kenneth "Ken" Franke passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family.

A dedicated professional, community volunteer, and cherished family man, Ken lived a life marked by integrity, leadership, and a spirit of service. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Benedictine University, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in financial services. Over the decades, Ken held key leadership roles, serving as Vice President at BNY Mellon Shareowner Services, Senior Director of Sales at Broadridge Corporate Issuer Solutions, and most recently as an Inspector of Elections with The Carideo Group. Ken was also recently commended by Hendersonville mayor Jamie Clary for his outstanding service as a member of the town’s Industrial Development Board.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ken was deeply committed to giving back. He spent over 14 years volunteering with Honor Flight Chicago and devoted years to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County helping to protect bluebirds. A perfect day for Ken would be a round of golf, followed by an Allagash on his patio, admiring the birds and his cultivated yard, listening to the Cubs game. However, above all else, time with his family is what mattered the most to him. His warm presence and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impact on every community he touched. Whether by jest or kind encouragement, he sought to bring out the best in everyone.

Ken is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Samantha Richey (Nick) and Kristin Monaco (Carl); his cherished grandchildren, Parker, Vivian, and Olivia; his sisters and their husbands, Kathy Lavery (Chris) and Kim Bingham (Ray); his niece and nephew Sarah Galati and John Bingham; and a wide circle of dear friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and John Franke.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ken’s memory to Honor Flight Chicago.
