Thank You for Your Service
Thank you for your service.
You served your country well.
You also served so many others
This much I can tell.
You served your parents faithfully
And oh, so loved your mother,
You were her first born son
You came before four others.
You served your brothers and your sisters
When they were in need,
They knew they could rely on you,
On this they all agreed.
You served your wife with love
And cared for her so much.
You brought to her security
And a gentle touch.
You served your children gallantly
You were someone they looked up to
You made them strive to be better
And try to be more like you.
You served your grandchildren in so many ways
Of some they’re not aware,
By being you, you improved their lives
With hard work, love and care.
