Kimila Anne Brogan, age 58, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, dedicated nurse, and faithful servant of God whose life was defined by compassion, generosity, and quiet strength.
Born on June 20, 1967, in South Carolina, Kimila dedicated her life to caring for others. She spent her early adulthood as a nail technician at Miracles Nail Salon and Zuriel Nail Salon. She later graduated with honors from Belmont University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Kimila began her nursing career at Vanderbilt Medical Center in the Trauma Burn Unit. She went on to serve several years in the Emergency Department at Summit Medical Center and spent the remainder of her career in the Emergency Department and as Nursing Supervisor at Nashville General Hospital. As a nurse, she brought not only skill and knowledge, but also kindness and comfort to every patient she encountered. Nursing was more than her profession—it was an extension of who she was. She had a natural gift for making people feel seen, safe, and cared for.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was married for 37 years to her beloved husband, Kevin T. Brogan, and was a loving mother to Kevin D. Brogan, Hollie Anne Brogan Miller, and Cody Brogan. As a grandmother to nine, she poured out unconditional love, wisdom, and warmth, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Kimila lived her faith daily. She believed deeply in serving others, offering help without being asked, and loving without conditions. Her home was a place of comfort, encouragement, and open arms, and her presence was a blessing to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin T. Brogan; her children and grandchildren: son, Kevin D. Brogan (Chrissy) of Gallatin and grandchildren, Lannon Brogan, Ryleigh Brogan, Kayson Phillips, and Laney Phillips; daughter, Hollie Anne Brogan Miller (Anthony) of Gallatin and grandchildren, Bailey Miller, Nolan Miller, Mallie Miller, and Everlee Miller; son, Cody Brogan (Taylor) of Gallatin and grandchildren, Addalyn Brogan, Ella Brogan, and Lillian Brogan.
She is also survived by her mother, Georgia Suggs; her siblings and their children: sister, Wendy Mitchell of Hendersonville and niece, Tashna Davis; sister, Chandra Murphey of Gallatin and niece, Tabatha Lawson, nephew, Michael Murphey, and niece Haleigh Clemmons; sister, Samantha Hudson of Gallatin (James) and nephews, Grover “Trey” Smith, Zachary Smith, Morgan Smith, and Cheyanne Smith; and niece, Amanda Evans.
She is also survived by special friends, Baylor Bone, Patti Steen, Lynn Gregory, Josephine Vaught, and Dr. Wayne Moore.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Cleo Metts Byrd, and her brother-in-law, Grover Cleveland Smith II.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville. Inurnment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the promise that she is now at peace, reunited with her grandmother, and welcomed into eternal rest. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to live on through all those she touched.
