In Loving Memory of Larry Gale Brooks
Age 77 | Bethpage, Tennessee
Larry Gale Brooks, age 77, of Bethpage, Tennessee, passed away October 18th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, unforgettable stories, and a family who loved him dearly.
Larry was born to the late Henry Odell Brooks and Lucindy Brooks of Bethpage, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe Brooks and Hugh Thomas Brooks, Noel Brooks; and his sister, Jewel Kemp, Nannie Huddleston.
He is survived by his loving family, including his brother, Roger Brooks of Westmoreland; Sisters Jessie (Milton) Woods of Gallatin; and Brenda (Billy) Manning of Gallatin.
Larry leaves behind two beloved children, his daughter, Crystal (Leonard) Brooks Laurentz of Bethpage, and his son, Clay (Stephanie) Brooks of Portland.
He was also the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Danielle, Eden, Ryan, and Liam, and four precious great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Ashton, Gracelyn, and MiaBella.
Larry was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He had a passion for working on anything mechanical and could often be found tinkering with engines, turning wrenches, or figuring out how to fix something. His love for racing was something that brought him great excitement, and his soft spot for animals showed another side of his heart.
But perhaps one of Larry's most memorable qualities was his love for talking. He never seemed to meet a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Whether sharing a story, talking about racing, discussing a mechanical problem, or simply passing the time, Larry always had something to say. His stories, personality, and conversations will be remembered by those who knew him.
Please join the family in commemorating Larry's life on Friday, October 30th, 2026, at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville. Visitation will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM with funeral services to follow. Burial will commence at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Gallatin after the funeral service has concluded.
