Mark Ray Keegan, age 61, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on March 24th, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on August 6, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, to Ralph and Betty Keegan.
Mark spent his early years in Williamston, Michigan, before moving to Sandy, Utah, where he graduated with honors from Alta High School in 1982. From a young age, he was known for his steady nature, strong work ethic, and thoughtful character.
Following in his father's footsteps, Mark built a career in the grocery business. He served as the store manager of Tony's Foodland in Joelton, Tennessee, for 21 years, where he became a trusted and familiar presence in the community. Through his hard work and commitment, he created not just a business, but a place where people felt welcomed and valued.
Outside of his work, Mark had a deep appreciation for history, especially American history and the Civil War. He was a passionate patriot who took great pride in his country and its heritage. He was also an avid collector, with a particular love for vintage cars and American coins.
Above all, Mark was a gentle and loving soul. He was known for his calm demeanor, his dependability, and his steadfast loyalty to those he loved. He dedicated his life to his family and his work, always putting others before himself and offering quiet support whenever it was needed.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Betty Keegan, and siblings Kathy, Bruce, Kevin, and Kim Keegan. He is survived by his beloved wife Melissa Berlin Keegan; stepsons Russell Crabtree, Terry Joe Crabtree (Katie), and Cole Crabtree (Ashleigh); loving brother and friend Kerwin Keegan; mother and father-in-law Frank and Pat Holt; 5 grandchildren; 5 nephews; 7 grandnieces and grandnephews; several cousins; 2 sister-in-laws; 2 brother-in-laws; and a host of beloved friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with a service to follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Burial will occur after services have concluded at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
