Millie Napoli, 85, a long time resident of Gallatin, Tennessee and formerly of New York City and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, passed away comfortably on July 14, 2024.
Millie held several jobs in New York City, even working in the Empire State Building. Later, she was a successful realtor in Queens. Millie started a new life and career in Tennessee in the 1980s. She pursued both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Austin Peay University and was later employed by them. Millie loved to travel, play bingo and scrabble, and go garage saling but it was later in life that she found her true passion; ballroom dancing. She made a dream trip to Austria to dance the Viennese waltz.
Millie was preceded in death by her son, Billy Shine, who tragically passed in 1983. Left to mourn are her cousin Lina Tejeda, her step grandchildren Grace Ann Angel, Thomas Napoli and eight step-great grandchildren.
Millie was a true spitfire. Her antics and outlandish behavior will be sorely missed but those who loved her most are happy that she is finally reunited with her son. Services will be private. Please consider a donation in Millie’s name to Austin Peay State University by calling (931) 221-7127.
