Naomi Scott

Mrs. Naomi Scott passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13,
2021 at her daughter's home in Castalian Springs, Tennessee. She
was 86 years old. Mrs. Scott was born on April 11, 1935 in Fairfield, Tennessee to Abram Graves and Volney Graves Thompson, both of whom predeceased her.
She was a resident of Sumner County, Tennessee her entire life
having raised her family in Gallatin and working at R. R.
Donnelley Printing Company having retired after twenty-three
years of service. After a short period of time at home, she returned
to work at Dillard’s Department Store at Rivergate Mall where she
worked nearly twenty years before her health began to take a turn
and she had to take a leave of absence which would eventually
lead up to her retirement in 2018.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her
daughter, Phyllis Scott Searcy, her sister, Mahailiah Hughes, and
the father of her children, Billy Scott. She is survived by her
daughter, Jennifer Scott Jones and her husband, Richard (Rick)
Jones, Jr. of Castalian Springs, Tennessee, her brother Tom
Graves and his wife, CoraEllen Graves of Roseville, California.
She is also survived by five grandsons, Bryan, Matt, and Bill Jones
of Castalian Springs, Tennessee, Justin (Marta) Searcy of
Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Phillip (Heather) Searcy of
Birmingham, Alabama. She is also survived by four
great-grandchildren, Stephen and William Searcy, and Elizabeth
and Andrew Searcy.
The family will be having a graveside service at Mount Vernon
Cemetery in Bethpage, Tennessee on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at
1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving your loved one
a bouquet of flowers while they can still enjoy them.
