July 17, 1972 — January 7, 2024

Hendersonville, Tennessee

Nathaniel Wayne Hill, age 51 of Hendersonville, TN passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Nathan was born in Madison, TN on July 17, 1972 to Cathy Denise Howell Rippeto, whom he affectionately referred to as “Muv”. He was raised in Old Hickory, TN and attended Hunters Lane Comp High School. He later lived in Hendersonville for over 20 years while working as a screen-room supervisor for Richards & Southern, a t-shirt printing company located in nearby Goodlettsville.

Nathan was a loving and dedicated father. Although his wife abandoned their young family and left him heartbroken, he continued to raise his daughter Melissa on his own (with help from his own mother, Cathy). He also played a significant role in the lives of his two step-children, Michael and Dixie. His children remember and honor him for his commitment to always doing the right thing and for serving as a hard-working and devoted father-figure throughout their lives.

Nate, as he was known by his friends, had a special affinity for video games, tabletop games, Marvel comics, and action figures. He was also an avid heavy metal fan. His loved ones will especially cherish the memories they made together while playing D&D over long weekends. They remember Nate for his strong sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. Throughout his life he remained a child at heart and he will be deeply missed.

Nathan is preceded in death by his grandparents, James Earl Howell, Goldie Howell, William Patrick Hill, and Gladys Tate Hill. He is survived by his mother, Cathy Denise Howell Rippeto; step-father, William Rippeto; daughter, Melissa Nichole Hill Quarles; son-in-law, Joseph Aaron Quarles; step-son, Michael Dewayne Barton; step-daughter, Dixie Dawn Marie Barton Williams; close friend and brother-in-law Joseph Maddin Quarles; sisters, Michelle Bottoms, Tanya Hill Harvey, and Darlene Hill Clemons; uncle, Jimmy Howell; and aunt, Becky Howell Hill.

A private remembrance party will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 13th at the Quarles’ residence. In honoring Nathan's memory, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him through his passions and the love he shared with his family and friends.
