Norman Reece Cooke, Sr., 79, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 in The Villages, Florida.
He was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina and was a 50-year resident of Hendersonville. He retired from E.I. DuPont in 1998 after 35 yrs. of service there. He also served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division in the 3rd Infantry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Gertrude (Pippens) Cook of Charlotte N.C.; wife of 44 years, Leslie Joyce (Oliver) Cooke; son, Stephen Cooke; and grandson, John Hicks.
He is survived by daughters, Laura Nelson of Memphis, TN; daughter, Jenni Hicks-Griffin (Scott) of Hendersonville, TN; son, Norman Reece Cooke, Jr. (Melody) of Westmoreland, TN; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
An Inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, TN will be scheduled at a later date.
The family has entrusted services to Austin & Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 104 Sanders Ferry Road, Hendersonville, TN. 615-822-4442.
