Patrick Michael McLean, affectionately known as Mickey, was born on July 26, 1962, in Exeter, New Hampshire. He departed this world on May 27, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy as vibrant as the music he cherished.
From the start, Patrick's passion for music shaped his identity. His remarkable career at Gibson Guitar Company was not just a job; it was a joyful chapter where he thrived amidst creativity and camaraderie. The minute he stepped into the hum of the Gibson team, he embraced the atmosphere, rich with history, as fervently as he embraced the fine craft of guitar-making. His proudest accomplishment—his work at the Gibson custom shop—was not merely a profession but an embodiment of his soul's calling.
Patrick's personality colored every room he entered, with his great sense of humor bringing lightness to heavy hearts. He was outspoken, never shying away from sharing his thoughts or engaging in spirited conversations. His laughter was infectious, echoing through the lives of those lucky enough to know him. Those who shared in his journey understood that music mingled with his being, transcending mere hobby; it was his heartbeat, captured beautifully when he played guitar.
In the course of his life, Patrick not only found himself through music but also through service. He proudly donned the uniform of the United States Army, serving his country with honor and dedication. This commitment mirrored the values he held dear—loyalty, resilience, and a camaraderie worthy of respect.
His familial ties were tender yet significant. Patrick is survived by his beloved son, Patrick McLean Jr, daughter in law, Candy McLean grandchildren, Shawn Patton, Emily McLean, Patrick McLean 3rd, his brother, Shaun Sharples, and his sister, Kellie Moore. Their lives intertwined with his, weaving a rich tapestry of shared experiences and heartfelt memories that will endure far beyond the passage of time.
