Paul Wayne Harrod, age 63 of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. Paul was born on January 29, 1963 in Newfoundland to the late Paul and Nora Harrod.
From a young age, Paul developed a passion for the collision industry, beginning his career while still in high school. Over the years, his expertise and commitment led him to establish his own company specializing in insurance appraisal services, earning him widespread respect among his peers. His professional legacy is not only defined by his success but also by the integrity and kindness with which he conducted his work.
Beyond his career, Paul was known for his vibrant personality; he loved to make people laugh and never met a stranger. His joyous spirit enriched the lives of all who knew him. An avid boater and traveler, he shared a particularly special bond with the lake community in Hendersonville. Together with his wife Anita, with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage, Paul treasured their adventures, including the memorable renewal of their vows in Key West, Florida.
Paul took great pride in his family, considering one of his proudest accomplishments the way he raised his children as if they were his own. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Anita Harrod; his children Joseph J. Legan, Jr. and his wife Michelle, and Keith A. Legan and his wife Joanna; as well as his honorary son Charlie Barbera and his wife Amy. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Jude, Pierce, Lillian, and Carrie. Paul also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews Nicole and Timmy, Jennifer and Izaiah, Steven and Lindsay, along with his siblings Jimmy Harrod and his wife Karen, and Kathy Dunaway; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also remembered fondly by his sister-in-law Denise Lyvers and his beloved fur babies, Bella and Beau.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nora Harrod, and his in-laws, Beverly and Winston Keith. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, both personally and professionally.
A Celebration of Paul's life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with Pastor Russell Irwin officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M until time of service. Family and friends are invited and asked to please wear Kentucky Blue.
