Ray L. "Buddy" Carr

Ray L. “Buddy” Carr, age 78 of Gallatin passed away October 21, 2022 surrounded by his family at home. Buddy was born on January 18, 1944 in the Fountain Head community of Sumner County, TN to the late Ray G. Carr and the late Maureen Lyon Carr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mercedes “Neen” Carr. Buddy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Woodard Carr; daughter, Cheryl Annette Britt (Jimmy); grandchildren, Grace and Jonathan Bumgarner; sister, Dianne Boles; stepmother, Dot Carr; nephews, Chip Boles and Chuck Woodard; uncle, Sid Carr; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Buddy was retired from the Ford Glass Plant with 38 years of service; he was an avid golfer for many years and a graduate of Gallatin High School Class of 1962. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he was loved by many and will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Buddy’s Life will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
