Richard P. Searcy

Richard P. Searcy (Rick), age 75 of Gallatin, TN, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Sumner Regional Medical Center, under High Point Hospice care. His remains will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held for immediate family at a later date. His ashes will be spread at some of his favorite places per his request.
Rick was born on June 17, 1947 in Portland, TN to the late Norman L. Searcy and Helen R. Searcy. He was retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Before starting a career with the State of Tennessee, he proudly served 4 years in the US Airforce and received his associate degree at Vol State Community College.
Rick was an avid Tennessee football fan, loved to travel, took pride maintaining his yard and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchild and other family members and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by three sisters, Theresa Searcy, Norma Jacobs and Betty Haddock; and a nephew, Mike Pate.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kay Searcy; a son, Brian Ellis; a daughter, Brooke S. Luna (Jeremy); 4 grandchildren, Zachary Luna, Shiloh Luna, MaKayla Ellis and MaKenley Ellis; and 1 Great grandchild, Korben Ellis. He is also survived by 2 siblings, Jenilee Cannon and Butch Searcy
(Waynelle ); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
