Robert Michael Almaraz, age 56 of Hendersonville passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on June 21, 1970 in Torrance, California to Julian Almaraz and the late Angela Delgado.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Delgado; step-father, George Delgado; and step-mother, Sharon Almaraz.
Robert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dorothy Almaraz; daughters, Claire Almaraz (Payam Azizkhani) and Carley Almaraz (Jack Etchison); father, Julian Almaraz (Betty); brothers, Julian Almaraz (Sharon) and Vince Almaraz (Cherie); nephew and nieces, Julian, Veronica, Ava, and Alexa; and sister-in-law, “Aunt” Peggy Wilkins.
Robert was a devoted husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. Selfless by nature and blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, he had a way of making those around him laugh and feel at ease. He was an especially proud “soccer dad” and treasured the countless practices, games, and miles traveled while supporting his daughters and the activities they loved.
An avid golfer, Robert enjoyed every aspect of the game and was a member of Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club. He also loved spending time at the beach and taking cruises with his family, always valuing the memories they made together. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Robert enjoyed a successful 30-year career with FedEx, where he served as a Senior Manager. He was also a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Above all, Robert will be remembered for his humor, his selflessness, and the tremendous love and devotion he had for his wife and daughters.
A Memorial Mass honoring Robert will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kalam, celebrant. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 3:00 P.M. until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation by visiting the link below.
