Robert Leland
Bilbro, Sr.
August 4, 1952 – June 2, 2026
Robert Leland Bilbro Sr., 73 –Passed on June 2, 2026 – Bob was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 4, 1952. Bob is survived by the love of his life, Jennifer (Jenny) Milliken Bilbro, sons, Leland and Brian, granddaughter Leah, and sister Mary Ann Bilbro Booth (Pete). Bob proudly and joyfully shared 52 years of marriage with Jenny, and cherished their home in Hendersonville, TN. He was predeceased by his parents, Berriman H. Bilbro, Sr. and Mary Garner Bilbro, and older brothers, Butch and Frank.
Bob spent most of his formative years in Goodlettsville, TN. He was a graduate of Goodlettsville High School and faithful member of Connel Memorial Methodist church in his growing years. He enjoyed several occupations, including working for a sporting goods company where he was a specialist in bow hunting and repair. Until his passing, he worked at a local wine and alcohol store where he delighted in meeting and getting to know customers. His kindness, good humor, and generosity of spirit made him a favorite of both customers and fellow staff members.
Bob had two great passions, his family and the great outdoors. Raised in a close and loving family, he loved deeply and unconditionally. His family was his highest priority. In his last days, it was his precious Jenny and his boys who occupied his thoughts. He understood no other way.
Bob found his greatest connection to God in nature. He was an outdoorsman and sportsman his whole life. From his grandfather and dad, he learned to love hunting and fishing. He had a deep love for the woods that verged his grandfather’s farm in Kentucky and which were a favorite place to hunt and observe wildlife. In recent years, he spent less time hunting and more time walking or sitting in these woods observing the beauty of the life around him. This was the place where he would retreat to reconnect with nature and refresh his soul.
In keeping with his wishes, Bob will be cremated. His ashes will be interred in the family plot at Powell Cemetery in LaFayette, Kentucky. A graveside service is planned for 10:00AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
