Robert Wayne Drake “Bob” of Ridgetop, TN peacefully passed on February 16, 2025, at White House Healthcare, in White House, Tennessee after a long battle with Dementia, with his sons by his side. Affectionately known as Pops and Peepaw.
Robert was born in Old Hickory, TN on November 26, 1945, to John and Ruby Drake. After high school Robert served in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class at F. E. Warren AFB, Wyoming from March 1963-March 1967 as part of the 90th Missile Maintenance Squadron (SAC) working as a 31652G specialist.
After returning to Tennessee, he went to work for Bell South Communications (Lineman) then for AT&T (Marketing), where he would later retire. Robert loved drag racing, and that love was later handed down to his son and grandson. He also enjoyed camping, boating and target shooting with his sons.
Preceded in death by his father John Brodie Drake and mother Ruby Lee (Carver) Drake.
Sister Francis ‘Frank’ Dowell (Drake) Kelley of Jefferson, GA., half-sister Margaret Louise (Drake) Jarrett of Nashville, TN., half-brothers Clarence Bratton Drake of Old Hickory, TN., and William ‘Bill’ Brodie Drake of Hendersonville, TN.
Survived by his sons Eric L. Drake (Jeanne) of Tennessee, Damon W. Drake (Debbie) of Ohio. Grandchildren Ryan A. Drake (Nicole), Amelia P. Drake and Allye M. Drake, all of Tennessee.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated and loving staff at White House Healthcare and Gentiva Hospice.
A private ceremony will be held at the Nashville National Cemetery in honor of our beloved father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
