Bob Snodgrass, of White House, TN, departed this life to meet his Savior on July 1, 2026, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Robert Esley Snodgrass II, as he was named at birth, was born in Knoxville, TN on September 4, 1946, the son of Robert Esley Snodgrass and Myrtle Jane “Pat” Snodgrass (Marcum). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Winnie (Snodgrass) Brown. Most of his life, his friends and family called him Bobby or Bob.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Goodlettsville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dwight Gunter officiating. Interment will follow the service at Beech Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Snodgrass; his three children, Aaron Snodgrass and his wife, Michelle, Stacey Schnarr and her husband, Chad, and Ryan Snodgrass and his wife, Jenny; and his grandchildren, Alec Snodgrass and his wife, Hailey, Wyatt Snodgrass, Annabelle Snodgrass, Hattie Snodgrass, and Mazie Snodgrass, children of Aaron and Michele; Elaina Leeker and her husband, Adam, Sydney Schnarr, and Will Schnarr, children of Stacey and Chad; and Jake Smith and his wife Shelby, Landon Snodgrass and Evan Snodgrass, children of Ryan and Jenny. Layla Smith, daughter of Jake and Shelby.

“Bobby” was called to the ministry at a Nazarene church camp when he was just a teenager. He received his Local Preacher’s License in the fall of 1964 and his District Minister’s License in August of 1965. At age 23, he was ordained an elder in the Church of the Nazarene. He ministered in the COTN for over 32 years and served as senior pastor, district treasurer, supply pastor, district NYI president, interim pastor, registered evangelist and many other roles in dozens of churches across six states. He also served as chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol, Raleigh County (WV) Sheriff’s Department, Covington, GA Fire Department and Hospice of Tennessee.

Bob was a lifelong learner, and a big believer in education. He received his BA from Trevecca in 1968, his MEd from Millersville University in 1994 and his PhD in Adult Education from Madison University in 2006. Robert also loved teaching. He was an adjunct professor at Trevecca for 17 years and also taught at Nashville Auto-Diesel College and later Lincoln Tech.

Even in his senior years, after “retirement”, Bob continued to touch lives. He said some of the most meaningful and impactful work he had ever done was ministering to others while working at the Nashville Rescue Mission, teaching Sunday School at TCC and serving on staff at Bethel COTN. Surely, Robert finally heard the words he had longed to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord!”
