Robert H. Williams

Robert H. Williams, born February 9, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 at the age of 87.  

Affectionally known as Bobby, he was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School, Class of 1956. He attended Belmont University and then transferred to Middle Tennessee State University.

Bobby's professional journey began with IBM, where he served as a marketing representative. Throughout his career, he excelled in sales, earning numerous local and national sales awards, including three prestigious Golden Circle awards. His dedication to his work led to a successful tenure at IBM, from which he retired in 1993.

In addition to his career, Bobby served his country by joining the Air National Guard in 1960 and being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1966.

Bobby had a deep passion for golf, a sport that brought him immense joy. He was a proud member of Old Hickory Golf Club for 34 years, where he not only enjoyed playing but also served on the Board of Directors and was elected President for one term. He was a founding member of the AHI Golf Classic as well as The Wally Golf Tournament, a Junior Golf Invitational showcasing his love for the game and its community.

He is survived by his wife, Beth (Pylant) Williams, and his devoted daughters, Angie (Todd) Cheek and Aimee (Will) Fuqua. He was fondly known as Grandbobby to his grandchildren, Spencer (Kenzie) Rankin, Jack Fuqua, and Abbie Fuqua.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Lenox Williams; his father, Lester Vernon Williams; his mother, Edith Fowler Williams; his brother, Lester Vernon Williams, Jr. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24 from 2pm~4pm at The Sandtrap, located at Twelve Stones Golf Course, 1201 Twelve Stones Crossing Goodlettsville, TN 37072. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The American Diabetes Association.
