It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Wayne Gourley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who entered eternal rest on July 24, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on February 23, 1946, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Ronald lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a profound connection to his family and community.

A man of many talents, Ron enjoyed a successful three-decade-long career in real estate, forging deep connections throughout the community. He used his sales expertise at renowned companies such as Procter & Gamble, Aladdin, and Revlon. His love for the land also led him to raise cattle on his farms in Kentucky, where he developed a deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of rural life. A true conversationalist, Ron was never known to meet a stranger; his friendly demeanor and engaging stories of the past drew people in, establishing lifelong friendships along the way. He brought laughter and joy to everyone he encountered, making an indelible mark in the hearts of those who knew him.

In addition to his parents Hurley and Willie Gourley, Ron is preceded in death by his son, Kurt Gourley, and eight brothers and sisters, of which he was the youngest. Ron is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Klaudene Emmette Gourley; daughters Keely Corley (Scott), Kori Cottam (Jeff), and Kassley Gourley; grandchildren Kasey Gourley (Courtney), Kaley Gourley, Kery Murray (Katie), Kole Cottam (Elise), Kyle Cottam (Madi), and Karson Corley (Meredith), and Kennedy Corley; seven great-grandchildren; sister Diana Mundy; and a host of extended family and dear friends. 

Please join the family in celebrating Ron’s memory on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside, 104 Sanders Ferry Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM to 12:00 PM, with a celebration of life service to follow. The family will lay Ron to rest during a private ceremony at a later time.
