Sam Martin went to be with the Lord just before his 89th birthday on January 24, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, LaRue Martin who was his forever love.

Sam was born February 1, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Patricia and Edward Martin and had three brothers and a sister. When he and LaRue married he was blessed with 6 more brothers and sisters and would say they were all his family. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

Sam was a hard-working man who was devoted to his family. He and LaRue raised 3 beautiful daughters. He was a loving papa to 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His family was the joy and treasure of his life, and he is loved and adored by each one of them. He was humble, faithful, generous, patient and kind. His smile was warm and his gentle spirit was contagious. He lived life to the fullest and loved to laugh and have fun. He will always be remembered by his family for his unconditional love, which is and will be his lasting legacy.
