Susan Koch, 74, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 24, 1952, to Leon and Irene Locke, Susan dedicated her life to bringing joy and care to those around her. For many years, she served her community as a dedicated Sumner County school bus driver, safely greeting countless children each morning with her familiar smile and watchful care.
While she took great pride in her work, Susan’s true and ultimate joy was her family. Her greatest title was Mom, but her heart grew even larger when she became a grandmother and, eventually, a great-grandmother. She poured boundless love, patience, and warmth into every generation of her family, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of devotion.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rick, her parents, Leon and Irene Locke, and her brother, Leon Locke.
She is survived by her loving sister, Sally Head. Her memory will be forever cherished by her four children: Dana Kane, Bryan Koch and his wife Amy, Angie Boone and her husband Lee, and Chad Koch and his wife Kelly. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren: Sydney Nolen(Jacob), Jacob Boone, Alex Kane, Calli Boone, and Bailey Daughtry; and her precious great-grandson, Elliot.
Susan will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony. In honor of many years of dedicated service as a Sumner County school bus driver, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in honor of Mrs. Susie to the Sumner County School Family Resource Center.
